What is a pawn loan?

A pawn loan is a secured short-term loan. You bring in a valuable item, we assess it personally on site and offer you a loan amount based on the item’s value. The item is stored securely during the term of the contract. You receive money without having to sell the item permanently.

Collateral instead of credit check

The loan is based on the pledged item. Your income situation and credit score are not the deciding factors.

You remain the owner

Your item is pledged, not sold. If you redeem the contract in time, you receive your item back.

Clearly defined term

The term, fees, interest and redemption amount are documented in the pawn contract and pawn ticket.

How the process works in the branch

The process is personal, discreet and easy to understand. Bring your item and a valid ID document to one of our branches. We inspect the item, explain the possible loan amount and discuss the terms with you before a contract is concluded.

01

Bring in your item

Visit one of our branches with your valuables and a valid identity document.

02

Personal valuation

We inspect the item carefully and explain how the valuation is determined.

03

Contract and payout

If you accept the offer, the pawn contract is created and the agreed amount is paid out.

04

Redeem or extend

Within the contract term, you can redeem the item or, if possible, extend the contract.

Term, interest and fees

A pawn loan has a defined term. The exact amount, costs and redemption conditions are explained before the contract is signed and documented in writing. We take time to make sure you understand what you receive, what has to be paid for redemption and by when.

Fixed loan amount

The loan amount is based on the value and marketability of the pledged item.

Transparent costs

Interest and fees are shown clearly in the contract, so there are no unclear follow-up costs.

Redemption within the term

If you repay the loan amount plus the agreed costs in time, you receive your pledged item back.

Pawn ticket and secure safekeeping

After the contract is concluded, you receive a pawn ticket. This document identifies the contract and is important for redemption or extension. Your pledged item is stored securely and assigned to the contract in an organised manner.

Keep the pawn ticket safe

Please store the pawn ticket carefully. If it is lost, contact us immediately so we can help prevent unauthorised redemption.

Personal redemption

If you wish to redeem the item, bring the pawn ticket and a valid ID document to the branch.

Secure storage

Your pledged items are kept in modern security facilities and clearly assigned to the pawn contract.

We actively try to avoid an auction of your pledged items.

An auction is not our goal. That is why we ask for a telephone number when the pawn contract is concluded. If a contract is about to expire and redemption is not yet possible, we try to find a solution with you before an auction takes place.

Extension

If the requirements are met, the contract can be extended in time.

Monthly repayment

Partial repayments can reduce the loan amount and therefore also future interest and fees.

Revaluation

If market values change, for example due to rising gold prices, a higher loan amount may be reviewed in individual cases.

Important: Contact us in good time. The earlier we speak, the better the chance of finding a solution before the item has to be realised.

What happens if a pledged item is auctioned?

If a pawn contract expires and is not redeemed or extended, the pledged item may be realised in accordance with the legal requirements. This is the last step, not the preferred outcome. The process is clearly regulated and documented.

Legally regulated process

The realisation of pledged items follows the applicable rules for pawnshop operations.

Transparent handling

The item, contract and proceeds are assigned and documented.

Communication helps

Please contact us before the term expires if redemption is not yet possible.

Which items are suitable as collateral?

Whether an item is suitable as collateral depends on its value, condition, marketability and authenticity. We check each item individually and explain the result clearly.

Gold and precious metals

Gold jewellery, coins, bars, dental gold and other precious metals can often be valued directly on site.

Jewellery and watches

High-quality jewellery and selected watches may be suitable, depending on brand, condition and market demand.

Other valuables

In individual cases, other valuable items may also be assessed. Please contact us in advance if you are unsure.

Frequently asked questions about pawn loans

Do I sell my item when I take out a pawn loan?

No. With a pawn loan, the item is pledged as collateral. If you redeem the contract within the agreed term, you receive your item back.

Is a Schufa inquiry required?

No Schufa inquiry is required for a pawn loan. The pledged item is the security for the loan.

What do I need to bring with me?

Please bring the item you wish to pledge and a valid identity document. If you have documents such as certificates, invoices or proof of authenticity, please bring them as well.

Can I extend a pawn contract?

In many cases, an extension is possible if the requirements are met and the costs due are paid in time. Please contact the branch before the contract expires.

What happens if I cannot redeem the item in time?

Please contact us as early as possible. Depending on the situation, an extension, partial repayment or another solution may be possible before the item is realised.

Can I receive advice before visiting a branch?

Yes. You can contact us in advance and describe the item. A binding valuation is only possible after we have inspected the item in person.

Do you have a question about a pawn loan?
