Since 2025, Rheinische Edelmetall has been continued in the second generation by Stephan Wynands, son of the founder and Managing Director – as a family-run company with a clear attitude, regional roots and the ambition to earn trust anew every day.

We are at home in the StädteRegion Aachen and in the Düren area. Our work combines experience in pawn loans, precious metal buying, jewellery and watch buying, as well as the sale of selected jewellery pieces and watches. For us, it is not only about gold, silver, platinum, palladium, jewellery or watches. It is about people, life situations and values – and about advice that remains fair, understandable and discreet.

Rheinische Edelmetall is an owner-led company with branches in Aachen, Düren, Herzogenrath, Würselen and Alsdorf. Our pawn houses in Aachen and Düren offer pawn loans on valuable items. In our gold-buying branches, we value and purchase precious metals, jewellery, coins, bars, dental gold, silver and other valuables.
Our company has deliberately remained personal. Customers do not speak to an anonymous call centre here, and they do not send their valuables to a distant address. They come to people who inspect, explain and advise locally.
This proximity is an important part of our work: we know the region, we understand the concerns of our customers, and we know that trust in the precious metal and pawn business is not created by big words, but by careful work.

2004
The history of Rheinische Edelmetall begins in 2004. Reinhold Wynands founded the company with the aim of offering precious metal buying and pawn loans in a technically sound, transparent and customer-oriented way.
Region
Over the years, a regional company developed into a trusted point of contact for people from Aachen, Düren, Herzogenrath, Würselen, Alsdorf and the surrounding area. Many customers come to us because they want a direct valuation, need short-term liquidity, or want to sell jewellery and precious metals from estates, collections or personal possessions.
2025
In 2025, the company was handed over within the family to Stephan Wynands, son of the founder and Managing Director. This means that Rheinische Edelmetall remains what it has always been: a family-run company with experience, responsibility and a personal connection to the region.
Today
At the same time, the company continues to evolve. Modern advice, clear digital information, a transparent online catalogue for selected jewellery pieces and watches, and a structured company organisation now combine more than two decades of experience with the requirements of the present.

Pawn loans
In our pawn houses in Aachen and Düren, we offer pawn loans on valuable items. A pawn loan can be a fast and discreet way to obtain short-term liquidity without taking out a traditional bank loan.
We inspect the item, explain the valuation and present the conditions transparently. The customer then decides whether to accept the offer. The process is clear, legally secure and handled personally on site.
Gold buying and precious metal buying
One focus of our work is buying gold, silver, platinum, palladium, coins, bars, dental gold, jewellery and other precious metals. Our valuation is based on expert criteria, material, weight, fineness, condition and market-related factors.
We attach importance to customers understanding what is being examined and how an offer is reached. Especially with inherited jewellery, old coins, dental gold or silver cutlery, calm and understandable advice is important.
Jewellery and watch buying
In addition to precious metals, we also buy jewellery and watches. The pure material value is not always the only factor. Depending on the piece, craftsmanship, brand, condition, resale potential and demand can also play a role.
We look at every item individually. Not every piece of jewellery is just scrap gold. Some pieces are worth preserving, wearable, collectible or suitable for resale. Making this distinction is part of a serious valuation.
Sale of selected jewellery pieces and watches
Rheinische Edelmetall is not only a pawn house and buying point. We also regularly offer selected jewellery pieces and watches for sale.
In Aachen, we additionally publish part of this selection in our online catalogue “Schmuckbörse”. The catalogue provides an insight into available pieces. The actual sale takes place personally on site at the branch. This allows customers to view jewellery and watches calmly, inspect them and receive advice.

Our purpose
Our purpose
Our purpose is to assess valuables fairly and to support people seriously in different situations.
Some customers need money at short notice and would like to borrow against a valuable item. Others want to sell inherited jewellery, have dental gold valued, classify old coins or part with pieces they no longer wear. Others are looking for a special piece of jewellery or a watch that is not anonymous mass-produced goods.
In all these cases, we want to be a reliable address.
We work with care, discretion and respect. Behind every item there is often a story: an heirloom, a gift, a collection, a purchase from earlier years or a personal decision. Our task is to examine these valuables professionally and to take the person behind them seriously.
